Thomas & Friends Toddler Bed

September 22, 2011

Transitioning from crib to bed can be a stressful time in any household.  Where to position the bed and how to get your child to actually stay in bed can be quite the challenge.  Over the years we have realized that maybe it is not quite so challenging as we thought.  Here are a few tips to make the transition from crib to bed a little bit smoother.

1) When setting up the new bed try to set it up in the same place as the crib was.  This will give your toddler a sense of security and familiarity.

2) Don’t forget to buy guard rails to prevent your little one from falling out of bed

3) Follow the same routine as you do every night when putting your toddler to bed.  If you usually sing to him, sit at the edge of the bed and sing or read a story…whatever the routine was in the crib, do the same in the bed.

4) Encourage your toddler to help pick out the new bed.  Let him put his favorite toys and blankets in bed to make it more comfortable and familiar.

And if his favorite toys are Thomas & Friends you are in luck!  Kidkraft has come out with the Thomas & Friends toddler bed and accessories!
