Under Cover

This bedding set is the most innovative idea imaginable.  I can’t wait for my granddaughter to be old enough to try this out!

Grobag, the baby sleeping bag company has come out with this idea for bedding.

With the grobag first duvet bedding set, the cover can be securely attached to the fitted bottom sheet using a zip system on both sides, so it’s easy for your little one’s to get into bed, but you’ll have the peace of mind that they can’t fall out! Plus the pillowcase is also attached to the bottom sheet – eliminating the risk of it going over their head in the night.

Crazy busy! That is the only way I can describe this week.  Tons of new products arriving.  I don’t think I will ever catch up!

One product that I just posted I think is my favorite so far.  Looking for an inexpensive gift?  Teacher gift?  Friend just joined the gym gift?  Just because gift?

Here it is:

Let me know what you think about these, are they not the most perfect gift!

Party Harty!

August 24, 2009

The party was a success!  As our guests arrived they were greeted with a blue martini that had a ribbon tied around the stem of the martini glass.  On the ribbon we imprinted “Neve & Bethany are tying the knot”.

At the back of the room a photograph was taking pictures as each guest signed a scrap book with “words of wisdom”.  Hors d’oreuves were eaten, drinks were drunk and people mingled all the while there was a roving magician working the room.

I think the party was a success!!!!!!  Now back to work and petiteposh.

Ready, Set , Go!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, today is the day! Nails? Done! Hair? Done! Dress? Pressed!  Panic?  Setting in! Only 7 hours to go till the engagement party.  I think we have everything in place but you can never be sure.  It is a cocktail party…..will people come hungry expecting dinner?  Open bar….will there be enough liquor for the hard liquor drinkers ( I could use a martini right about now )  We have hired a roving magician…..I am thinking that standing around an making small talk gets old real fast.  Let’s hope this magician is as good as his reputation and not a magician for a childs birthday party.

The “other mother” (we will refer to her as the TOM) and I have made bows to put on the martini glasses so that when the guests arrive they will be handed a martini all tied up in bows of the color of the wedding.  We have made a table with a scrap book for the guests to write “words of wisdom” and have a photographer taking pics of the people that write in the book.

The party starts at 7:30, let’s hope it is not over by 9:00……..I will update tomorrow…keep your fingers crossed PLEASE.

Hushamok – Dream Baby Dream

August 21, 2009

The weather has been terrible here lately.  Very unstable conditions.  A few tornados touched down about 10 minutes from my house yesterday evening.  There is nothing better then watching a storm from the comfort of your own home.  I opened all the shutters, lay on the sofa and just watched mother nature do her thing.  Having said that…thank goodness the tornado didn’t hit our area!

Speaking of comfy, cozy, there is no place cozier for baby than the Hushamok baby hammock…..and don’t forget, this is very exciting…..now available is the Hushamok infant seat, appropriately called the Hushamok MySeat.

Homemade Baby Food – Seasonal & Sumptuous!

August 13, 2009

Every season has its sumputous fruits and vegetables.  We all love to endulge in them and even get creative when preparing them.  There is nothing like fresh fruit that is in season, straight from the farmers market!

As adults we love this, it tickles our palate and foodies enjoy seasonal offerings just that much more.  Well, babies are the same as us!  They love the textures, smells and tastes of seasonal sensations.

For instance, you can add simply delicious seasonal peaches to the old favorite, apple sauce making “peachy apple sauce”.

Ingredients:

1 large apple

1 large peach

2 tablespoons of water

In a small saucepan cook the fruit for 5-8 minutes or until very tender.  Put the cooked fruit into a blender and blend using the pulse button a few times until the mixture is smooth.

Extra servings can be frozen for future meals but don’t forget to freeze them in portions.

Chemo Shemo

Today is a not so great day. My friend was diagnosed with lymphoma 2 weeks ago and she starts chemo on friday.  Her doctor had a great way of describing chemo, while trying to take the fright out of chemotherapy she said that even when you take something as simple as an aspirin you are taking chemotherapy.  Brilliant!  It took the fear away for ……..10 seconds (?).

My question to you is….how do you help?  I know, be there, support her, but there must be something else.  How do you get rid of this feeling of sheer terror for what she is about to under go?  How do you deal with your best friend going through this?

The Day After… My Inspiration for Baby Gifts

August 11, 2009

Have I mentioned that I started weight watchers?  I would like to lose 10 pounds by the spring.  Doesn’t sound like much I know but I tend to lose, gain, lose, stay stagnant then lose some more.  I have now been on weight watchers for 6 weeks and have succeeded in losing 3 pounds!  Bravo!!!!

Yesterday I decided that since I had 10 points left to my day ( at dinner time) I would indulge.  Instead of a well balanced diet for dinner I would eat a bowl of ice cream with chocolate syrup!  Yes, I know, kind of defeats the purpose …not!  You see that is why I love the points system.  Each what you want, when you want , just don’t exceed your points.

Funny thing is, once I finished my bowl of ice cream ( and chocolate syrup) I found the most adorable baby gifts that reminded me of my splurge.
